Prime Retail

Dress-Smart

Prime Retail Management was responsible for bringing outlet shopping centres to New Zealand. Prime Retail developed and continues to manage New Zealand’s first outlet mall chain - Dress-Smart.

In 2002, Prime Retail Management sold the Dress-Smart Onehunga, Hornby and Tawa centres to AMP. The centres were then on-sold to ING NZ Retail Fund in 2003. ING NZ Retail Fund sold these centres in 2010 to the current owners.

Prime Retail Management maintains a strong relationship with the current owners by continuing to manage, lease and further develop the Dress-Smart centres on their behalf.

In 2006, Prime Retail developed a fourth Dress-Smart centre on the outskirts of Hamilton at The Base, Te Rapa. This centre is owned by Te Rapa Outlet Centre Ltd and managed by Prime Retail.

Combined, the Dress-Smart centres comprise almost 250 retail outlets and enjoy an annual turnover around NZ$145 million.
